"Little Lil"

(First Light x unkn but possibly Knockout)

This compact  rosebush is never without blooms. It produces numerous  2" 5-12 petaled red or magenta  flowers with a white eye.  Blooms last up to 9 days even in heat. Powdery Mildew gets to it in the spring though, damaging the leaves. Beautiful bluish green leaves with thick purple edges in spring. Sets hips.

"Basil's Kisses"

(Kiss of Desire x Seedling)

Looking good!  Healthy foliage. Looks like it will be a climber. Blooms are large and in clusters. Nice scent. Does very well in heat and cold.

"Charmed Life"

(Seedling x Seedling)

Seems to resist sun well. Beautiful delicate salmon high centered blooms with touches of darker edging. Healthy foliage. Looks good! Not very floriferous in 2003, but flowered a lot in Spring of  2004. Very nice.

"Kiss of Honey"

(Kiss of Desire x Seedling)

Vigorous, healthy plant. Starts out looking like Lady Hillingdon. Blooms in clusters and repeats often. Wonderful strong scent. May be a climber. Darker peach reverse on center petals. Repeats often. Almost white in summer heat.

"Lovely Linda"

(Kiss of Desire x Seedling)

Excellent in the hot sun. Red edging with a purplish cast to the inside of the red.  Lasts very long without burning in the sun. The red changes to a pretty magenta. Looks like it will be an enorrmous bush.  Few blooms so far.

"Twisted Tillie"

(Kiss of Desire x Seedling)

Named for the terminal leaf which is often at a 90 degree angle to the others. The foliage on this rose is a fantastic blue-gray with red edging and dense like shoe-leather, and stays beautiful in the hot sun. The 2003 blooms originally were awful and fried quickly in the sun, but 2004 blooms have been much better. See below. Unfortunately, doesn't bloom much.

Culled.

"Sweet Milo I"

(Seedling x Seedling)

Sweet Milo looked like a real winner. Perfect little blooms that lasted well in the sun without burning at all.  But the second season brought much larger blooms with more casual form, and the blooms didn't do as well in the heat. A real shame.

"Bloomsbury Square"

(Seedling x Seedling)

Vigorous bush and large blooms! Pretty frilly petals in deep salmon, then medium salmon, then delicate pink with salmon/pink stamens. Closes up at night. Nice foliage and a well balanced bush.

"Percy"
(Seedling x Seedling)

First bloom. Still being evaluated. Leaves sensitive to sun. Not doing well.

Culled.

"Chi Chi"

(Kiss of Desire x Seedling)

Chi Chi looks like a mini. The one long-lasting bloom she had stayed cupped and never opened flat. Color eventually changed to white with a thin red edge. Has not re-bloomed again.

"Lucy in Disguise"

(Seedling x Seedling)

Lucy starts out creamsicle orange and within 2 hours turns veiny pink, which is very pretty, however the blooms roast easily. Leaves burn too.

Culled.

"House of Stuart"

(Kiss of Desire x Seedling)

Beautiful blooms even at 108 degrees. Lasts long and petals do not appear to burn. So far, great! Blooms are evolving. Will probably be a large, vigorous climber.
